RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS · Directly trains and coordinates the activities of production employees in the assigned area following all product specifications and company policies · Follows up and reinforces information provided to new employees in orientation · Thorough knowledge and understanding of position requirements of assigned line/department and competently demonstrates the skills of each position on the line · Adheres to all workplace and food safety policies and procedures outlined by the company and required by federal, state and local laws · Develops a competent workforce by utilizing hands-on training methods in the work area · Evaluates trainee progress and maintain records of trainee’s progress and achievements · Communicates and collaborates with all levels of management within the organization · In the absence of supervisor, supervises and coordinates the activities of production employees under the direction of a general supervisor · Communicates effectively with all employees, provides direction, instructions and feedback based on experience level of employee · Follows up and provides appropriate feedback and recognition based on level of performance CRITICAL COMPETENCIES Develops Talent · Developing people to meet both their career goals and the organization’s goals Values Differences · Recognizing the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to an organization Directs Work · Providing direction, delegating, and removing obstacles to get work done Decision Quality · Makes good and timely decisions that align with the organization. WORK ENVIRONMENT: : While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in processing plant production floor setting and minimal time in an office setting. The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts and exposure to airborne particles, chemicals and gases at low concentrations. The noise level in the work environment can be loud when in the production area and requires hearing protection. NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The schedule of this position is in alignment with the plant production schedule which is normally a 40 to 50 hour work week with Saturdays required if production is scheduled.
