A day in the life at Atotech Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG

In your role as Procurement Specialist (m/f/d) you are responsible for developing and implementing purchasing strategies for the material groups semi-finished products and fittings in the plastics/metal sector, as well as significant and cost-intensive trades for the project business.

Your responsibility

  • Strategic Procurement & Contract Management:
  • Independent management of the entire procurement process for defined material groups, including negotiation and support of long-term supply contracts.
  • Supplier management:
  • Selection, evaluation and development of suppliers; conducting audits and annual assessments; maintaining supplier data in SAP/ARIBA.
  • Market & cost analysis:
  • Monitoring of market and technology trends; derivation of purchasing strategies; identification and implementation of savings potential.
  • Supply chain optimization:
  • Analysis and improvement of the supply chain with regard to efficiency and risk minimization; close coordination with operational purchasing and production.
  • Problem solving & escalation management:
  • Handling of supply bottlenecks and quality complaints in cooperation with quality assurance, operational purchasing and engineering.
  • Project work & international cooperation:
  • Participation in international projects; support of global purchasing strategies; close cooperation with the factory in China.

Your skills and competencies

  • Completed technical studies, preferably in industrial engineering (m/f/d)
  • Relevant professional experience in international, strategic purchasing in the field of mechanical/plant engineering is required for this role.
  • Good technical understanding
  • Excellent, negotiation-level English skills and proficiency in MS Office are required; SAP knowledge is an advantage.
  • Negotiation skills, persuasiveness, assertiveness, entrepreneurial thinking and action, and cost awareness
  • Willingness to travel on business both domestically and internationally (maximum 10%)
