Responsibilities
  • Utilize various equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment for shipping & receiving, processing orders, and for moving and storing items.
  • Develop constructive professional relationships with internal and external customers including but not limited to Ames Team Members, clients, end users, carrier drivers, and business partners.
  • Performs shipping and receiving duties as required and manually picking/loading customer orders.
  • Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy by conducting regular cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Inspect stock for damages and maintain clear records on all inventory.
  • Maintains an organized, clean, and safe work area and equipment according to operating specifications, safety requirements and housekeeping standards.
  • Conducts an equipment inspection before and after use and reports any defects to department supervisor.
  • Actively participates within a team environment while being able to self-assess regarding safe work practices.
  • Take all precautions necessary to operate safely with a focus on workplace improvement & safe storage and handling of product.
  • Participates in all branch COR initiatives and follows all company safety manual policies.
  • Ensures proper documentation (pick tickets) are filled out correctly, double-checked and signed by the customer.
  • Champions excellent customer service and team player skills.
  • Able to learn and use ERP system hand-held scanners.
  • Ensures complete compliance with all Health and Safety policies and regulations.
  • Assist with samples (sample production) as needed.
  • Additional duties as required.
