We value, celebrate, and believe in the power of individuality and strive to create a work environment where everyone can be themselves. We want you to join us, bring your authentic self to work and unlock your full potential.
As a Warehouse Section Leader you’ll play a key role at the centre of our operation, where every action you take contributes to our customers enjoying their favourite M&S food.
Our operation in Barnsley are looking for candidates who can commit to a Wednesday to Saturday shift pattern, working 20:00 - 06:00am.
As part of your role, you will provide clear communication and ongoing feedback to colleagues with clear examples and expected outcomes. Understand and deliver against the operational plan for that day, taking accountability for a specific operational area. Support with immediate resolution of safety concerns where appropriate and escalation of safety incidents, hazards or near misses. Be responsible for delivery of operational service KPIs and coach colleagues to improve their performance and deliver key operational expectations. You will support the induction of new starters and ongoing legal and operational training requirements for colleagues (with TWI’s). Undertake colleague Return to Work interviews promptly and put in place initial supportive measures if required, ensuring training and development needs are identified and reviewed frequently. Prioritise issues as necessary and rectify through to conclusion, ensuring colleagues are operating in a safe and legal environment at all times. Create an environment where everyone can make suggestions and be heard by acting on colleague feedback, ensuring compliance against Gist Health and Safety procedures.
Ideally, you will have a good understanding of warehouse management systems, the ability to identify potential risks and develop solutions and an innovative approach to leadership – being creative and implementing new ways to improve performance.
