Open to applicants in New Mexico interested in relocating to the San Luis Valley of Colorado.
Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, the Shipping Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of the Center shipping department and warehouse. Major responsibilities include: 1. Inventory control for ingredients, materials, finished products, work-in-process. Inventory control includes maintaining accurate inventory counts, keeping inventory organized by designated locations, conducting inventory cycle counts. 2. Loading of outbound trucks in accordance to established procedures and regulatory requirements, including accurate records and paperwork. 3. Receiving of inbound trucks in accordance to established procedures. 4. Keeping the warehouse clean and free of pests by working with sanitation department and outside services. 5. Supervise the warehouse personnel, including scheduling and payroll reporting. 6. Insure all shipping/warehouse employees follow all company safety policies and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
EDUCATION:
Education must be of such level as to allow for the accurate reading, writing, calculation and communication of the required materials and instructions to complete the job responsibilities. High school diploma or higher education preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The Shipping Supervisor will directly supervise shipping and warehouse personnel, and reports to the Plant Manager. Will assign work for each employee; adjust assignments as necessary to meet shipping schedules and requirements. Identify vacant positions, review applications, interview and offer employment to the most qualified candidates. Work with all new hires for training and safety; identify developmental needs, training needs, issue discipline and corrective actions as appropriate. The Shipping Supervisor will have authority to authorize overtime, merit pay and recognition programs, and will work with management for policy dissemination and interpretation needs.
