Description

Responsibilities

Determine work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.
Enter Purchase Order requisitions.
Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.
Study and standardize procedures to improve the efficiency of workers.
Interview, hire, and manage a team of 5 + warehouse employees.
Confer with other managers outside of the distribution center to ensure coordination of additional functions such as production, inventory management, and quality assurance.
Ensure correct shipment of domestic and international orders.
Identify employees’ skills and develop them by coaching and counseling employees regularly.
Stay within established budgeted freight dollars and cents per pound.
Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflows, and processes, and identify opportunities for improvement and accurate inventory management.
Help with all other ad-hoc supply chain projects as needed.
Monitor the performance of each freight provider.
Help manage any paperwork requirements from freight providers (COI, Cert. of Operating Authority, Contracts)
