Description Main Purpose: The Warehouse Shop Hand maintains a clean and organized shop workspace and ensures safe and efficient handling of goods, materials, and equipment. This position is located at our warehouse in Broussard, LA. Essential Functions: Load and offload equipment and materials by operating a forklift Receive and pack supplies for projects Maintain shop (housekeeping) Repair and maintain blasting and painting equipment Pick up supplies from vendors when needed Perform other duties assigned by supervisor Benefits Offered: Earned Wage Access Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401(k) with Company Match Paid Holidays Paid Vacation Life Insurance Disability Insurance Safety Awards Company Store Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Requirements Physical Requirements: Standing Walking Turning, twisting, bending, and stooping Pushing and Pulling Reaching, forward and overhead Climbing Balancing, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and seeing Lifting - employees must lift to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds Job Requirements: Valid Driver's License Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen Must be able to pass a background check Desirable Experience, Education, and Training: Highschool diploma or GED Tools, Equipment, and Technology: Forklift and other machinery Blasting and painting equipment Environmental Conditions: 80% to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc. They may also be exposed to fumes (Paint, paint thinners, diesel, /or gas, etc.) Gulf Island will not sponsor applications for work visas.
