Description

Job Brief
We’re looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Stock Controller to manage inventory within our bustlingproduction and warehouse facility. This role is crucial in maintaining optimal stock levels from raw materials like fragrance components and packaging materials to finished products, ensuring seamless production flow and timely fulfilment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels for raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished products to support continuous production and dispatch operations
  • Collaborate closely with purchasing and procurement teams to forecast demand and place timely replenishment orders, avoiding both stockouts and overstock situations
  • Perform regular cycle counts and full inventory audits; investigate and resolve any discrepancies promptly
  • Accurately log stock movements and updates using WMS or inventory management systems, and maintain clear documentation and ordering records
  • Ensure quality control for inventory, including checking storage conditions suitable for sensitive perfume ingredients; raise any issues or deviations
  • Generate and analyse inventory reports—tracking patterns, forecasting needs, and providing actionable insights for production and supply chain teams
  • Coordinate with warehouse operations to support effective picking, packing, and dispatch, ensuring high productivity and minimal stock errors
  • Implement and maintain loss prevention measures, monitor movement logs, and support compliance with health & safety standards and handling procedures

Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
Proven experience in stock or inventory control, preferably within manufacturing or warehouse environments
Proficiency with WMS or inventory management software.
Experience with ERP modules or tools like NetSuite, Fishbowl, Trade Gecko, Red Prairie or relevant equivalent. Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail, key for maintaining accuracy across high-volume inventory
Analytical and problem-solving abilities to manage forecasting, reconcile discrepancies, and propose process improvements
Also valuable:
Effective communication skills to collaborate with procurement, production teams, and vendors.
Familiarity with FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices—especially critical given shelf-life concerns with fragrance materials
Physical capability for occasional warehouse duties, stock counting, lifting, and working within controlled environments

Why This Role Matters

  • As a Stock Controller in a perfume manufacturing setting, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that production stays on track and products are delivered efficiently. Your ability to optimise inventory, reduce waste, and uphold quality standards will directly support both operational performance and customer satisfaction.
