Job Title: Fulfilment Centre Supervisor
Reporting To: Head of Fulfilment & Delivery
Location: Wigan
Grade: M1

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fulfilment Centre Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse processes, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to safety standards. This role is crucial in managing a team, optimising logistics, and implementing process improvements to enhance overall performance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • You will be able to demonstrate your previous experience in a D2C / B2B Fulfilment, Warehousing or Distribution environment.
  • You will have previous experience of working with Warehouse Management Systems.
  • A set of proven management skills, the ability to lead, engage and encourage others to optimise team performance.
  • A minimum 3 years’ experience a shift supervisory or management position, team size > 10.
  • The ability to remain calm and focused under pressure in a fast-moving environment.
  • You pride yourself on being competent numerically, high attention to detail, organisation, and follow-up skills.
  • You are flexible and responsible act with Integrity in role.
  • You have a strong desire to build relationships, work as a team, keep a positive attitude and embody the values of 3PL.
  • You have good interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • The ability to work under own initiative, and self-driven.
  • You can think logically, analyse, and interpret data to support initiatives and make the right decisions.
  • You pride yourself on your high attention to detail, organisation, and follow-up skills.
  • You are discrete and place high amount of value on confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Lead multi customer fulfilment and distribution activities across a defined shift.
  • Ensure delivery of agreed performance targets, all service-related criteria and budgeted cost.
  • Day to day management of team members in relation to safety, quality, performance, and equipment integrity.
  • Plan and organise operational activities to ensure efficient throughputs, to optimise resource and deliver customer demand expectations without exception.
  • Work proactively and collaboratively with the wider shift management teams to ensure full operational capacity is utilised across sites.

KEY DUTIES

The role is diverse in nature and the duties below include but are not limited to.

  • Responsible for the planning, communication and execution of day-to-day activities related to fulfilment and distribution for multiple customers.
  • Lead a group of team members to complete all operational activity to achieve the contracted service levels by customer.
  • Brief team members daily to ensure priorities, targets and operational requirements are clear.
  • Demonstrate a visible commitment to health and safety (H&S) best practice. Work closely with the HSEQ Manager by enforcing safe working practices, encouraging compliance, and monitoring and checking the understanding of the team.
  • Ensure all operational and customer required KPI’s are recorded and reviewed accurately in respect of safety, cost, people, quality, and service.
  • Provide daily updates and or escalation of issues to the Fulfilment Operations Manager
  • Work collaboratively with the Inventory Supervisor to ensure rack layouts optimise picking efficiency, utilise space to the best effect and promote stock integrity.
  • Conduct performance reviews including appraisals, 121’s, return to work, absence reviews and disciplinary hearings.
  • Coach and develop team members to optimise performance, to ensure quality and underpin progression of the team.
  • Ensure hygiene and housekeeping standards are maintained to the required standard to support safety and operational efficiency at all times.
  • By working with the HSEQ Manager and performing root cause investigation, identify opportunities for Continuous Improvement.
  • Ensure all the required security procedures are adhered to without exception. Monitor and challenge when any deviation occurs.
  • Ensure that company vehicles, MHE and other operational equipment are maintained and fit for purpose, defects are reported in a timely manner.
  • Work openly and collaboratively with customer facing departments to reach solutions and achieve consistent outcomes when dealing with product, process deviation or performance issues.
