EDUCATION AND TRAINING

  • Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor is preferable although not essential
  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management
  • Experience of using warehouse management systems is essential
  • Forklift licence desirable but not essential
  • Warehouse manual handling preferable (although training available)

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Proven supervisory experience in a busy warehouse environment
  • The ability to plan-ahead and manage your time
  • Experience in using a Stock management system
  • Understanding of stock takes/PI counts
  • Picking, packing use of labelling systems for despatch (FED-EX, DHL and DPD)

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

As Warehouse Supervisor you will report to and provide direct support to the Warehouse Manager in the day to day running of the operation. You will oversee a team of Warehouse Operatives ensuring all tasks are completed with accuracy and efficiency and maximise warehouse productivity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties will include but not limited to the following:

  • Supervise a team of Warehouse Operatives and work “hands on” in a busy warehouse
  • Manage the workflow in the warehouse including packing stations, manual picking, processing stations and goods in
  • Coaching all new team members in company standards, job duties and customer service
  • Ensuring that operations are compliant with health and safety policies
  • Co-ordinating labour requirements in-line with workload
  • Ensuring excellent housekeeping standards are maintained
  • Constantly looking for areas of improvement in processes of the business
  • Ability to efficiently lead a team, delegate, supervise functions and keep staff motivated
  • Flexibility within the role and able to cover a variety of areas within the Warehouse
  • The ability to safely operate warehouse equipment including pallet trucks and forklift vehicles
