Apex are a leading supplier of fasteners, fixings and in-house manufactured bespoke parts servicing the engineering and construction industries and specialising in JIT stock management systems. It is an exciting time to be an Apex employee owing to continued growth. We are looking to recruit a Warehouse Supervisor to continue the development of the warehouse strategy, process and support business growth. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our warehouse. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse processes, ensuring efficient management of inventory and logistics. This role is crucial in maintaining a safe and productive working environment while optimising business processes.

SKILLS

  • Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead teams.
  • Strong knowledge related to warehouse equipment and operations.
  • Proficient in dispatch and receiving procedures with a keen eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems to manage inventory effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the activities of warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to operational standards such as cycle counts and location verification.
  • Coordinate warehouse team to ensure operations are running effectively and efficiently.
  • Manage inventory levels to track stock movements and maintain accurate records.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment, including delivery vans and forklifts, to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Implement effective materials handling procedures to optimise space utilisation and improve workflow efficiency.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate team members, enabling a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Analyse business processes to identify areas for improvement, implementing strategies that enhance productivity and reduce costs.
  • Assist with introduction of new KPI process, ensure that the goals are monitored and achieved.
