POSITION SUMMARY:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for development and success of self-directed work teams. The work team is responsible for the efficient operation of the warehouse area including safety, quality, service, GMP compliance, productivity, and cost. The Supervisor must be able to manage and coach a multi-skilled, multi-level, multi-shift, diverse workforce to achieve business results.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in supply chain or warehouse management
  • Ability to drive/operate standing forklift and become certified as a trainer.
  • Supply Chain/Quality related certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 year experience in a supervisory role managing at least 10 direct reports.
  • Excellent knowledge of operations a plus.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, make independent decisions, lead change and be assertive about taking responsibility.
  • Must be able to deliver strong schedule execution and show sustainable improvement in KPIs and have the ability to work effectively in a team environment a plus.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and effective listening skills.
  • Ability to lead/influence others in the development and implementation of business objectives.
  • Able to understand abstract thinking to solve complex problems. Able to generate multiple possible solutions to problems. Requires little supervision when problem solving.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals without supervisor explanation.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
  • Frequent standing and walking throughout the day
  • Operate computer, calculator, copier, fax machine and other office equipment.
  • Frequent extended periods of working at a computer terminal and keyboard.
  • Occasional bending, pushing, pulling and lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Works with teams and peers to ensure safe working conditions and compliance with OSHA and EPA requirements. Promotes and enforces safe working habits.
  • Ensures all department goals and KPI’s are met such as units shipped per month, on time delivery and inventory accuracy.
  • Works with teams to ensure a high degree of cleanliness is maintained in work areas and common areas at all times.
  • Promotes team concept with focus on continuous improvement.
  • Efficiently schedules equipment, manpower, and inventory requirements for the movement of material to optimize quality, service, and cost with special emphasis on managing overtime.
  • Monitors and updates operational SOP’s as required and enforces compliance.
  • Effectively communicates with other departments to ensure all departments are being properly supported.
  • Investigates and resolves any disruptions to packaging and processing.
  • Investigates, resolves, and implements corrective preventive measures for manifest and location accuracy errors.
  • Develops and implements strategies to improve the operation.
  • Initiates and completes projects and assignments in a timely manner.
  • Develops creative cost saving approaches to completing and improving tasks and processes.
  • Coordinates shipping to support Outside Vendors and International Locations.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy with MES and SAP operating systems. People Management
  • Responsible for staff management including hiring, training, coaching and development, recognition, progressive discipline up to and including termination.
  • Develops and supports an effective, high morale, highly engaged work force.
  • Utilize the warehouse team to emphasize employee involvement including work redesign, empowerment, and quality and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure employee development through training, empowerment, and recognition.
  • Ensure all warehouse operators are fully trained in all aspects of warehouse operations.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to warehouse team members to aid in their development.
  • Frequently communicates company information to all warehouse team members in an effective matter.
  • Directly manages non-exempt staff following Fareva values, principles and policies.
