Description:

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience, lead hand experience, preferably within a fast-paced warehousing environment.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Prior Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and Auditing experience.
  • Proven leadership qualities with a track record of motivating employees.
  • Ability to satisfactorily resolve conflicts with minimal disruption to the operations.
  • Be a good planner and have solid analytical and organizational skills.
  • Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have a positive attitude and high work ethic.
  • Ability to lift objects (up to 50 lbs).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Food industry knowledge and Joint Health and Safety Committee experience is an asset.
  • A unionized environment experience is preferred.
  • Forklift certification and reach truck driving experience preferred.

ACADEMIC/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Additional Certifications and/or Designations are an asset.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage and implement efficiencies for the day to day operations of a multi-temperature controlled warehouse with approximately 10-12 employees per shift.
  • Provide coaching, supervision, training, and performance monitoring.
  • Oversee scheduling including payroll and vacation tracking.
  • Promote and maintain strict Health & Safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with all applicable legislations and safe practices and provide ongoing training and communication.
  • Work on WHMS improvements and changes.
  • Perform inventory/audit controls and keep high quality standards.
  • Work towards being one collective group with the unionized employees. Meet with other Managers and enhance company culture.
