OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse management processes. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient handling of materials, shipping, and receiving activities while maintaining a safe and organised work environment.· It involves working to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining excellent customer service standards.
The successful candidate will join a team of 2 Supervisors, 16 Warehouse Operatives and will supervise in the despatch area, working from 10:00 - 19:00, Monday to Friday, reporting to the Warehouse Manager.
Starting salary of £26,000 per annum - negotiable depending on experience.

SKILLS

  • Proven experience in team management within a warehouse environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to motivate a team
  • Ability to work under pressure and be decisive
  • Strong knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Familiarity with materials handling techniques and logistics operations.
  • Proficient in using SAP is an advantage.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
  • Experience operating forklifts safely and efficiently is an advantage
  • Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in managing inventory levels.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Manage and lead a team of warehouse staff, providing training and support to enhance performance.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through regular stock checks
  • Organise and maintain packaging inventory and storage area.
  • Coordinate logistics for outbound shipments, liaising with suppliers and transport companies as necessary.
  • Ensure proper materials handling techniques are followed to minimise damage and optimise efficiency.
  • Implement best practices for heavy lifting and manual handling to promote employee safety.
  • Achieve high levels of customer satisfaction through excellence in picking, packing, dispatching, and assuring quality of goods.
  • Coach, communicate, motivate and manage the performance of the team
  • Communicate effectively with customers, other departments and the management team
  • Ability to problem solve, forward plan and redeploy resource where needed
