EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a warehouse supervisory or management role, ideally within a small to medium-sized operation.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a small team.
  • Experience handling delicate or fragile goods (glass packaging experience highly desirable).
  • Solid understanding of warehouse health & safety requirements and best practices.
  • Forklift licence (counterbalance and/or reach) preferred.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable using warehouse management systems (WMS), spreadsheets, and Microsoft 365.
  • Proactive, reliable, and hands-on with a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As the Senior Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our warehouse operations. You will lead a team of two warehouse operatives and ensure that all warehousing activities including goods-in, stock control, order fulfilment, and dispatch are executed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. This is a hands-on role that also requires a strategic mindset and the ability to identify and implement process improvements as we grow.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reporting into a Group Warehouse Manager, take full ownership of daily warehouse operations, ensuring all activity runs efficiently and in line with company standards.
  • Lead, manage, and support two warehouse operatives, including task delegation, training, and performance monitoring.
  • Oversee the safe and accurate handling, storage, and dispatch of fragile glass packaging products.
  • Maintain accurate stock control through regular inventory audits and reconciliation.
  • Optimise warehouse layout and processes to improve productivity and reduce handling time or breakages.
  • Liaise with suppliers, hauliers, and internal departments to ensure timely and accurate inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, including proactive identification and mitigation of risks.
  • Operate forklifts and other equipment safely and efficiently (valid licence preferred).
  • Implement and improve warehouse SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and contribute to ongoing operational improvements.
  • Report to senior management on KPIs, warehouse performance, and stock accuracy.
