The WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR is responsible for coordinating and supervising all receiving and shipping activities on a daily basis.
The Warehouse Supervisor will work with and supervise directly, all employees with regards to coordinating the receiving, warehousing, and shipping of freight of all kinds in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives, as well as housekeeping of the warehouse facility.
Responsibilities include, (but are not limited to), providing instruction; training employees; designating work assignments; reviewing work; establishing deadlines; conducting performance appraisals; and addressing and resolving personnel issues in conjunction with direction provided / issued by the Warehouse Manager.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
· Highway loading regulations, (Provincial and Federal Transport Regulations)
· Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certified
· GHS & TDG / First Aid Certified
· Good working knowledge of health & safety procedures.

· Responsible for dock operations for all shifts;
· Accepts direction from Dispatch staff during their working shift;
· Assign hours / workload / schedules all dock staff;
· Reviews incoming freight volumes daily by coordinating with Dispatchers;
· Summits time cards for all employees;
· Assesses / reviews forklift operators to determine experience levels & suitability;
· Provides safety orientation to the workplace for newly assigned employees;
· Ensures forklifts are pre-inspected prior to each shift by all operators;
· Ensures our client’s Standard Operating Procedures are followed;
· Ensures trailers are being swept out by dock staff on all shifts as needed;
· Ensures that trailers are pre-loaded by properly training staff;
· Trains warehouse staff when necessary on equipment;
· Ensures Dangerous Goods and safety compliance by dock staff;
· Supervises and coordinates all activities related to the unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and staging, and quality assurance of outbound shipments in accordance with productivity requirements;
· Verifies required inbound / outbound paperwork with local P& D drivers, ensuring that all products are properly counted.
· Ensures inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
· Manages Health, and Safety objectives in accordance with OHS Policy;
· Participates in establishing work schedules. Ensure that the schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly;
· Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assists in maintaining a 100% security of the warehouse during working hours.
· Conducts operations in a manner, which promotes safety and in accordance with OSHA and MSDS Standards.
