Description Summary: This Warehouse Supervisor plays a crucial role in achieving our purpose of being our customers’ competitive advantage by providing leadership to warehouse and delivery team members while maintaining a strong customer focus. On a day-to-day basis, this position will provide guidance to warehouse and delivery team members to ensure the delivery, receipt, and coordination of customer orders. Depending on the location, this position may serve as a backup for counter sales, warehouse responsibilities, delivery drivers and transfer truck drivers as needed. In addition, this positions works with their team to ensure processes are in place to manage work flow, promote safety, promote proficiency in delivering product, monitor truck maintenance, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations in order to support excellent customer service, accuracy, and compliance. The Warehouse Supervisor is a self-starter, works autonomously and performs all of the duties and responsibilities of a delivery and/or warehouse team member in such a manner that sets an example for others. This individual is seen as a leader and continually coaches and mentors others on the team so they may continually improve. Their leadership should promote our culture, our 5 P’s and our purpose to be our customer’s competitive advantage. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Provide supervision and leadership to warehouse and delivery team members Work closely with Sales and the Regional Customer Service Manager to ensure excellent customer service Drive company safety initiatives and compliance in the warehouse Manage and adhere to current DOT regulations Manage efficient, safe and accurate delivery of products Monitor and track truck maintenance and cleanliness Monitor performance goals and metrics and identify areas of opportunity Provide back up support to the warehouse and delivery drivers Assist in managing the delivery logistics for the branch Support team members by participating in team lifts Oversee picking and transfer queue Assist in building and grounds maintenance service as needed Provide cross-training for new warehouse employees Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to enhance employee performance and engagement Promote our culture and 5 P’s Requirements Critical Success Factors: Execute duties with the highest regard for safety, continuous improvement and cost reduction Drive for continuous improvement Excellent customer service orientation Strong leadership and mentoring skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to understand, communicate and implement our processes and procedures Ability to lead by example with a positive work ethic and attitude Willingness to give and receive constructive feedback Ability to analyze workload and establish priorities with time sensitive deadlines Ability to make sound decisions and seek buy-in from others Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems and develop solutions Lead by example by displaying a positive work ethic and attitude Ability to learn, grow, and adapt to change Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines Self Motivated Dependable Ability to work collaboratively with all branch team members Job Requirements/Specifications: High School Diploma or GED required Minimum of a two year degree preferred Able to meet and maintain qualifications required by DOT One year previous delivery or courier experience required One year previous distribution experience preferred Class B CDL preferred Class A CDL preferred in locations requiring tractor trailer delivery Electrical product knowledge is preferred Previous experience in warehouse leadership preferred Previous experience managing a team of five or more preferred Ability to operate lift truck equipment Demonstrated computer skills Ability to work with Excel documents Knowledge of Eclipse and RF guns preferred Ability to lift 100 lbs on a consistent basis Ability to work a varied shift Work Environment & Physical Demands: Consistently standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, bending at the waist, twisting upper body, climbing, reaching, working with hands & fingers, talking hearing, depth perception, and field of vision Frequently kneeling, crouching, vision acuity near and far, vision adjustment, driving, team lifting, works with others, customer contact, work indoors & outdoors Sometimes sitting, balancing, crawling, color vision, works alone, non-standard shift work, extended day, cold, heat, temperature changes, high places, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and poor ventilation The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an incumbent.
