JOB SUMMARY

The Warehouse Operations Team Leader is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of warehouse operations run smoothly. This is a “player-coach” role that includes day-to-day people management, as well as performing the duties of both a Warehouse Operator and an Inventory Operator. The role involves assigning routine tasks to team members.

KEY PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years of logistics experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of inventory/stock experience.
  • Forklift experience is desired but not essential.
  • Strong numerical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in IT skills, including Google Drive and other systems.
  • Accuracy and high attention to detail.
  • A passion for providing service excellence and a drive to achieve results.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership:
  • Maintain work schedules for the team and assign routine tasks.
  • Manage team sickness and holidays.
  • Conduct 1-on-1 meetings.
  • Liaise with internal customers and stakeholders to manage any issues.
  • Train new starters.
  • Serve as a key holder.
  • Ensure all company procedures are followed and orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
  • Warehouse Operations:
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of vehicles using manual handling techniques.
  • Move and store products in the correct warehouse area.
  • Perform goods in duties, including receiving goods, checking their accuracy and quality, and ensuring they are labeled and stored correctly.
  • Check delivery notes against goods received to ensure they are cross-matched and comply with the goods ordered before booking them in.
  • Ensure all deliveries are free from damage and report any discrepancies with photo evidence.
  • Perform goods out duties, processing, picking, and packing orders in a timely manner.
  • Load HGV and LGV vehicles.
  • Clean and maintain the warehouse and equipment to set standards.
  • Move stock using a forklift.
  • Consistently work to high standards of health and safety and meet company standards and procedures.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Maintain and update inventory records.
  • Investigate stock discrepancies and report to management.
  • Create and maintain an effective space plan within the warehouse.
  • Implement, oversee, and maintain inventory procedures.
  • Ensure effective inventory control and accuracy to support business goals.
  • Deliver a robust cycle counting process.
  • Manage physical stock and accurately reconcile it with inventory management systems.
  • Proactively seek process improvements with a methodical and consistent approach.
  • Deliver strong stock controls to assist in the efficient movement and management of stock.
  • Take responsibility and ownership for problem investigation and resolution.
