Warehouse Team Leader (Night Shift) Warehouse Team Leader (Night Shift) Location: Warehouse 2, Pike Law, Skelmersdale Are you looking for a role where you can truly lay the groundwork for success? We are seeking a reliable, hands-on Warehouse Team Leader to join our Skelmersdale operation. This site serves as our primary Tiles hub, meaning you will be responsible for the bedrock of our inventory during the critical night-shift window. In an industry where precision is everything, we need a supervisor who ensures our standards never slip and that every order is dispatched without a crack in the process. The Package Base Salary: £29,173.47 Night Premium: +£1.81 per hour (additional) Working Hours: Sunday – Wednesday | 20:00 – 07:00 The Benefit: A fixed four-night week, allowing for a consistent work-life balance and three full days off. The Role: Frontline Supervision As the Team Leader, you are the "grout" that holds the shift together. You are responsible for coordinating the warehouse floor, ensuring that picking, packing, and dispatch targets are hit well before the morning transport arrives. Your key responsibilities will involve: Shift Briefings: Leading the nightly "toolbox talk" to delegate tasks and communicate the night’s volume targets. Operational Flow: Monitoring progress in real-time to identify bottlenecks. You’ll be the one to clear any "clogs" in the system to ensure 100% on-time vehicle departures. Quality Assurance: Conducting regular spot-checks on orders and pallet wrapping. Whether it's a delicate porcelain tile or a full bathroom suite, you’ll ensure the finish is perfectly flush for the customer. A "Working Lead": You won't just be supervising from the sidelines; you’ll be prepared to assist with MHE operation or picking during peak periods to keep the shift on track. Safety & Security: Maintaining a fastidious approach to Health and Safety, ensuring the site remains secure and the team stays sharp during the early hours. Skills and Experience Required We require a sturdy professional who understands the unique demands of a night-shift environment. Logistics Background: Substantial experience within a fast-paced distribution centre, ideally with a proven history of working nights. Supervisory Ability: Previous experience leading a team or acting as a deputy. You should possess a "firm but fair" approach to keep morale high. Technical Competence: Proficient in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and comfortable with data entry for end-of-shift reporting. Licences: Valid UK licences for Counterbalance, Reach, or PPT are highly desirable. Resilience: A high level of personal stamina and the ability to make sensible decisions when the pressure is on.
