Summary and purpose of position: An opportunity has arisen for a full-time Warehouse Team Manager on night shift to undertake a management role and support the Warehouse department. The overall purpose of the role is to lead, manage, engage and motivate a team of Warehouse Colleagues in accordance with the organisation’s values and deliver a ‘best in class’ service, whilst creating a positive and safe working environment. The above position is for a full-time role which will be on night shift (22:00-06:00) working any 5 days from 7 and will include weekend working therefore, it is essential that you are flexible in your approach to work. Duties and responsibilities: The role reports directly to the Warehouse Shift Managers, key responsibilities include: Motivate and manage the team to achieve, and where possible exceed, all performance objectives. Effective management of resources to achieve KPIs (cost, quality, service, and absence). Ensure a proactive approach to Health & Safety via risk assessment and by ensuring that warehouse team members comply with Health and Safety policies and requirements. Conduct regular individual reviews and where necessary agree a performance improvement plan. Time & Attendance management. To manage employees through the effective application of Company terms and conditions, policies (capability and conduct, absence, equal opportunities) and procedures (grievance, disciplinary, terminations). Experience, skills and attributes: Experienced in managing a team. The ability to analyse data and make recommendations with a strong attention to detail. Customer focused and able to build effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders. Experience of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment is essential. In-depth knowledge of Warehouse systems is essential. Excellent communication skills combined with logical problem-solving skills. Proficient communicator that can respond positively to changing demands. Computer IT literate with advanced experience in using Microsoft Office – especially Excel. The successful applicant will be required to undertake a Management Apprenticeship if they have no formal management qualification.
