Job Description Position Purpose: Responsible for the effective performance and operation of the warehouse activities for all Long Island Region Facilities, to include Bay Park, Cedar Creek, Glen Cove, Lift Station and Collection Network. Must have the ability to maintain effective working relations w/ supervisors and Co-Workers in coordination with the Maintenance Department. Responsible for management of shipping, receiving, distribution and control of inventory and ensures compliance with department and corporate policies including federal and state procurement laws and guidelines. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Accurate receiving of shipments. Reconciliation of Exception Report to check and verify status of all open POs and requisitions. Monitor and perform housekeeping procedures and practices. Coordinate with Maintenance and Accounting and monitor the classification, delivery, inspection, issuance, shipping/receiving and storage of all commodities for all areas to ensure materials are properly issued to correct work order and work with Accounts Payables to resolve invoice discrepancies. Conduct physical inventories for all locations on a monthly basis including the annual Fixed Asset Inventory and Reconciliation to meet client contractual compliance. Coordinate disposal of obsolete commodities with Maintenance and Operations departments. Respond to customer service issues and complaints. Follow up on back-order shipments and discrepancies with vendors. Assume other responsibilities, as required. Work Environment: Work is performed both inside and outside with exposure to all kinds of weather conditions. Incumbents may be occasionally exposed to some noise, silica, dust, fumes, smoke, gasses, greases, oils, electrical energy, solvents and vibration. Incumbents may work on slippery/uneven surfaces, around machinery with moving parts, moving objects/vehicles, ladder/scaffolding, below ground and may be exposed to water or other liquid materials. Maintain a high level of focus on health, safety and environment, ensuring safety within all activities. Qualifications Education/Experience/Background: High School Diploma/GED is required. 3 - 5 years Warehouse experience is preferred. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: No physical restrictions that would prevent them from performing physical labor. Excellent reading, math, writing, scientific, and verbal communication skills. Ability to understand/execute written and oral instructions, read/understand complex technical instructions. Proficient in Windows, MS Office Suite, Google Workspace, OPS, EAM & CMMS, and other computer-based systems. Ability to interpret service manuals and drawings and SOPs. Excellent troubleshooting/problem solving skills. Knowledge of industry commodities and services desired. Strong organizational and planning skills with ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities required. Must have the ability to maintain effective working relations w/ supervisors and Co-Workers. Must have the ability to make decisions with little supervision. Must be able to communicate well w/individuals at all skill, knowledge and experience levels. Must be able to work as a team in a teamwork-oriented environment. Must be safety conscious and able to work independently with no supervision. Required Certification/Licenses/Training: Valid NYS Driver’s license and the ability to meet risk management guidelines. Additional Information Pay Rate: $21.78 per hour.
