Metropac Limited is a distributor based in North Weald, by Harlow. We operate deliveries from our base going as far as Bristol, Leicester, Southampton.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Warehouse operative/ HGV Truck Driver (driving approx 10-15 days an year, as an backup driver if one of our drivers aren’t available) to join our logistics team. The main job role will be an warehouse operative. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency, with experience in driving forklift, using basic IT programs like Sage, Excel & Outlook (easy to use), and some basic commercial driving. As an warehouse worker you will be responsible for offloading goods coming in & loading goods going out via forklift, this process will also require inputting the stock data into the PC.
The delivery model is based on transporting goods that’s are fully palatized only, which means goods will be loaded at base and offloaded at customers via forklifts, as a result there will be no labour work involved during warehouse/deliveries unless in rare circumstances.
The worker/driver will be required to operate an forklift on site during loading times when necessary, If a forklift licence isn’t present the company will arrange and pay towards a one day course.
In rare occasions if certain days there aren’t deliveries coming in/out the candidate will be required to work in the warehouse, jobs may include stock taking, palletising loose goods, maintaining warehouse efficiency.

Experience:

• Commercial driving: 1 year (required)

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations throughout the operating process.
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods, particularly for curtainside deliveries.
• Maintain accurate & tidy stacking & storage of goods.
• check all incoming & outgoing goods for damaged or expired items.
• Operate curtainside lorries in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
