OVERVIEW

We are a fruit, veg and dry goods wholesaler seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by handling various tasks related to stock management, quality control, and materials handling. This position requires a strong work ethic and the ability to perform heavy lifting as part of daily responsibilities. We also require a full manual driving licence.
Pay is £12.21 an hour with an immediate start. You can also benefit from our healthcare plan (also covers any dependent children) and Nest Pension Scheme.
The business operates Mon – Sat and we are closed on Sundays. The role is full time 5 days a week with the second day off on rota. The shifts start at 7:30am until approximately 3:30pm but finishing times may vary.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in a warehouse setting is preferred but not essential.
• Familiarity with stock management, and quality control processes is advantageous.
• Basic mechanical knowledge is beneficial for operating equipment safely.
• Forklift experience is advantageous.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.

• Manage stock levels and assist with inventory control.
• Conduct quality control checks on incoming products and current stock.
• Perform food safety duties such as date checking and temperature checks.
• Engage in materials handling, including loading and unloading goods from vans and lorries.
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members in other departments, such as the office team, night team and delivery drivers, to ensure timely completion of operations.
• Complete vehicle checks and manoeuvre the vans.
• Perform picking and packing of orders accurately and efficiently.
• Cover holiday and sickness absence for delivery drivers taking deliveries to customers when required.
