Full job description

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Warehouse Yard Hand to support the daily operations of our Melbourne Service team. This hands-on role is responsible for the safe movement, storage, preparation and dispatch of capital equipment, while maintaining a clean, organised and efficient warehouse and yard environment.

Reporting to the Logistics & Operations Manager, you will play an important role in managing the flow of equipment through our warehouse and yard operations.

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Loading and unloading trucks, containers and transport vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Receiving, identifying and tagging equipment, batteries and chargers
  • Preparing and staging equipment for dispatch
  • Assisting with stock control and monthly stocktakes
  • Installing and allocating batteries and chargers to equipment
  • Managing storage locations and maximising available warehouse space
  • Assisting with the control and processing of equipment designated for scrap
  • Maintaining stock, yard and warehouse presentation standards
  • Reporting hazards, incidents and safety concerns promptly
  • Working closely with transport providers, workshop personnel and internal stakeholders

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A current Forklift Licence (essential)
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, yard, logistics, recycling or industrial environment
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to work
  • Physical fitness and the ability to undertake manual handling tasks

Highly Regarded

  • Experience working in a scrap metal, recycling or salvage yard
  • Experience handling large equipment, machinery or industrial assets
  • Basic inventory or stock control experience
