Vinland Homes is a full service production and custom home builder and is seeking to add a full time permanent person to join our team.
Vinland is a family owned and run business, that has a very close knit and family orientated culture. We have been growing strong for over 13 years, and whether in slow markets or hot, we succeed.
We operate in the single family, multi family, acreage, infill, and land development markets. Giving a varied and dynamic work environment.
We provide ample opportunity for growth; personally and professionally. We will continually invest in training and educating you so you can be the best of the best at your profession.
We’re looking for a hungry person with an assertive, go get em’ attitude. Someone that is hardworking, energetic, and with a desire to build something bigger than themselves with a passion for providing value to people and working together with a team towards a common goal.
We are looking for someone that has some prior experience in construction, and has the ability to professionally deal with clients.
In this position you will take over the home at possession, completing any remaining work, seasonal or other, and servicing our clients with any warranty needs, giving them excellent customer service through the first year of their new home.
From the moment they are handed over to you from the build team at possession, you will communicate with the client the status of remaining work, perform warranty walks, arrange trades for completion of work, and answer any and all questions they may have.
In all of this, you must have exceptional customer service skills, the ability to resolve conflicts, the ability to navigate complex situations, and have the ability to stand firm with decisions.
In addition, we are looking for someone with the following traits:
Character:
We’re looking for someone that has exceptional character. Honesty. Integrity. Admits mistakes. Personable. Humble.
Team:
We have a close knit team, and want someone with a personality that can fit our culture. The ability to have fun, but also serious with the job at hand. The ability to pull their weight, and to help when someone is struggling.
Hard Working:
A small team that puts through the volume of work we do doesn’t have room for slackers. We try our best for a good work-life balance, and when at work we get things done.
Diligence and Attention to Detail:
There are a lot of details that go into a home, and most of our homes have some customization. Mistakes do happen, but we expect our team to pay attention to the details and be diligent in their work.
Efficiency:
We typically build entry and mid level homes in batches in a production line, similar to a manufacturing outfit. So work happening efficiently within customer interactions and warranty work must happen in an efficient and effective manner.
Whoever is on our team must be able to pay attention to the details, but also has excellent time management skills so they can move through tasks efficiently and effectively without getting bogged down and running in circles.
We are also looking for someone that is:
Very highly organized
Highly driven to succeed and doesn’t accept failure
Very proactive, and not reactive
High attention to detail
Self starter
Excellent record keeping and communication skills
Excellent memory
Great problem solving skills
Uncompromising about keeping the promises you make
Religious determination to keep and follow schedules
Hates uncleanliness and disorganization
Understands the importance of company culture, and
Understands growth targets and can take steps to hit and exceed those targets.
Someone that has experience with BuilderTrend, or another similar software is a bonus, but not required. But you must have the ability to grasp and efficiently use software programs.
If this sounds like you, and you’re looking for more than just a JOB, then you may be who we’re looking for.
If you don’t have aspirations for bigger things, don’t apply. You must not be a slacker and you must be someone that can accept responsibility for their actions. People make mistakes, but if you can’t own it and learn from it, don’t apply.
We have many benefits in place including pension plan, profit sharing, stock ownership, health benefits, vehicle and phone allowance, employee development opportunities, etc.
If this opportunity describes you and your aspirations to succeed and become a part of something bigger, please forward your resume with references along with a letter stating your availability and salary expectations. Only candidates who are selected for an interview will be contacted, thank you for your interest.
