UDT provides technical, professional, cyber security and managed services. This is a Full-time position, based in Columbia, South Carolina. Warranty Services Lead The Warranty Services Lead plays a key lead role in supporting UDT’s product laser etching process at Columbia, South Carolina, and is part of the Managed Lifecycle™ solution. Persons in this role are responsible for ensuring the proper execution of laser etched products across the entire department on 1st shift, as well as the health and maintenance of the laser etching machines. Persons in this role must possess extraordinary attention to detail to ensure a successful etch process, as well as mechanical and artistic acumen to implement the etching solution across the varied landscape of UDT customer needs. Responsibilities: * Responsible for leadership of the warranty repair technicians at the service depot for the assigned shift while completing repairs as well. * Responsible for maintaining a deep understanding of the manufacturer service programs (HP, Dell, Lenovo, Microsoft, Samsung, etc.) * Responsible for providing reporting and updates to shift supervisors and Managers as it relates to the repair process, workload, obstacles and challenges so they can be addressed in an efficient and timely manner. * Collaboration with other department leads and shift supervisors to keep repair workflows consistent. * Ability to work in fast paced environment with a hands-on approach. * Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. * Strong technical aptitude related to the diagnosis and repair of laptops & desktops. * Evaluate, troubleshoot, disassemble, assemble, repair and/or inspect computers to assure proper function before sending to the QC department for final analysis. Qualifications * High School Degree or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in warehouse and/or production environments and systems OR * A combination of education and experience of equivalent time frame demonstrating similar skillsets applicable for the above listed responsibilities * Strong Process Orientation and Attention to Detail. * Exceptional level of attention to detail. * Ability to work independently without direct, constant management. * Ability to follow written and oral instructions to interact with live computer system and power/networking components. Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: * Ability to lead teams of people from 5-10. * Ability to work independently without direct, constant management to execute a plan. * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. * Ability to confidently operate laptop, desktop, and tablet computers. * Ability to communicate with other departments to manage flow of production volume and keep pace with the workload. * Ability to work the assigned shift, weekends, and at times into the later hours of the day as per business needs. * Must be able to physically lift weight up to 25 pounds. * Must be able to read and understand English instructions. Judgment Skills: * Decipher personnel conflicts and issues within the department team, participate in resolution and reporting efforts alongside Supervisors. * Make proper assertions as to the safe handling and care of new, customer equipment, and maintaining the integrity of items as brand new through processing. * Maintain acceptable levels of quality control to ensure automated processes finish properly according to previously established standards. * Adherence to all generally accepted safety protocols and procedures in mixed office/warehouse environment. * Ability to be polite and use diplomacy in difficult situations when working with a widely varied landscape of personnel types on a daily basis.
