Description
The Wash Bay Manager oversees a team of part-time vehicle detailers and ensures all vehicles are cleaned, prepared, and maintained to the highest standards. This role is critical in delivering a safe, clean, and ready-to-drive experience for customers participating in off-road activities. Key Responsibilities * Supervise a team of approximately four detailers, including scheduling, performance oversight, and ensuring timely, high-quality work. * Coordinate staffing needs for daily operations, special events, and rapid fleet turnaround requirements. * Perform and oversee thorough vehicle cleaning and preparation, including exterior, interior, undercarriage, and engine bay. * Inspect vehicles for safety concerns; identify and report warning lights, damage (vehicle, windshield, tires), and remove vehicles from service as needed. * Fuel and stage vehicles to ensure readiness for customer use. * Maintain a clean, organized work environment and ensure supplies are stocked and readily available. * Identify and report unsafe or hazardous conditions in the work area. * Ensure team compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and proper use of cleaning and sanitization supplies. * Maintain cleanliness of parking areas and back-of-house spaces. * Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards. * Model company values in all interactions with customers, team members, and partners. * Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications * High school diploma or GED required. * At least 1 year of supervisory or management experience in vehicle detailing or a related field. * Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle preferred. * Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. * Availability to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays. * Ability to work in varying weather conditions and adapt to changing environments. * Strong attention to detail, reliability, and punctuality. * Ability to take direction and respond constructively to feedback. * Professional appearance and conduct. * Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and solve problems effectively. * Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude. Physical Requirements & Work Environment * Work is primarily performed outdoors in varying weather conditions. * Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally. * Visual requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus, including while operating a vehicle. * Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet operational demands.
