WASH PLANT & HEAVY DUTY FITTER

Kealshore is seeking a skilled and reliable Wash Plant & Heavy Duty Fitter to support our site operations in Kirkby. This hands-on role involves servicing and maintaining heavy machinery including excavators, loading shovels, and our aggregate wash plant. It’s ideal for someone with strong mechanical skills and a proactive attitude towards uptime and site performance.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be reliable, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must be able to commute to our Kirkby site (L33 4XZ).
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and reporting.
  • Flexible to work overtime and weekends based on operational needs.
  • Previous experience with aggregate wash plant maintenance highly desirable.
  • An understanding of health & safety in an industrial environment.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: £18.00-£22.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 47.5 per week

Responsibilities
  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on heavy plant machinery (excavators, shovels, wash plant).
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
  • Inspect and maintain the aggregate wash plant to ensure safe and optimal operation.
  • Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance to maximise uptime.
  • Monitor wash plant performance, adjusting processes to ensure output quality.
  • Accurately complete service records, inspection reports, and maintenance logs.
  • Work alongside other fitters, plant operators, and the management team.
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out in line with Kealshore’s health and safety standards.
