About the Role We are recruiting Waste and Cleansing Drivers to support the delivery of extended working hours within the Street Cleansing service, helping to ensure Nottingham’s streets remain clean, safe, and welcoming for residents, businesses and visitors. The role involves carrying out a wide range of frontline environmental duties across the city, including street cleansing, litter picking, emptying litter bins, fly-tip removal, graffiti cleaning and supporting wider public realm services as required. You will work flexibly across service areas, operating vehicles and equipment safely, maintaining high standards of health and safety, and contributing to an efficient, responsive service that puts citizens first. These roles are key to supporting an extended hours service and will operate across two shift patterns: Shift 1 – Monday to Friday, 14:00–22:00; and Shift 2 – Wednesday to Friday, 14:00–22:00, Saturday 09:00–17:00 and Sunday 09:00–16:30. You will be expected to work as part of a team or independently, adapting to operational needs, working outdoors in all weather conditions, and delivering a high standard of service at all times. About You The ideal candidate will have: * A full UK driving licence for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes (C1 entitlement desirable) and experience of working in waste, cleansing, environmental or similar outdoor operational services. * A good understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices and the ability to carry out physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions. * Experience of using tools, equipment and vehicles safely and effectively. * The ability to work independently and as part of a team, using initiative to complete tasks to a high standard. * Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with colleagues and members of the public. * A flexible approach to work, including the ability to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays in line with service needs. * A commitment to delivering high standards of customer care and contributing to a clean, safe and green environment.
