Responsibilities

POSITION PURPOSE (WHY DOES THIS POSITION EXIST)

The purpose of this position is to provide strategic waste management and improved resource recovery outcomes
for the City of Launceston, with a particular focus on the management of landfill levy compliance and reporting and
driving sustainability initiatives.

ACCOUNTABILITIES ACTIVITIES/TASKS INCLUDE SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE …

Delivery and continual Community engagement around kerbside services for Reliable service delivery
improvement of existing general waste, recycling and food organics and garden
A better-informed public in
waste and resource organics collection (FOGO)
relation to waste management
recovery services and
Develop new waste services such as CBD recycling for and resource recovery options
development of new
Launceston
services for City of Business cases for alternative
Launceston Public education for kerbside FOGO collections technologies
Coordinate of recycling services for City of Launceston
Investigate innovative technologies to assist with
resource recovery and landfill operations.
Maintain and review operations manuals
Project and contract Manage Charity Concession Entry Grants to landfill, Proactive contract
management landfill surface and groundwater monitoring program management
and related contracts
Delivery of projects to agreed

Community education Drive community education programs that promote Community education
