Description

As an essential member of the Waste & Environmental Services Team, you will coordinate staff members, contractors, managing agents, and other key stakeholders to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively. You will be assisting the Council in meeting its obligations under the Government waste reforms, including introducing food waste collection for households and other environmental projects. You will also support the implementation of the new Leicestershire Resources and Waste Strategy for Melton.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring project budgets, including forecasting, expenditure, and costs against delivered benefits and outcomes.
  • Supporting the governance and monitoring of projects, maintaining risk registers and issue logs.
  • Engaging with various stakeholders, including community members and internal teams, to gather feedback and inform project decisions.
  • Leading and facilitating meetings and discussions to resolve issues and enhance collaboration.
  • Obtaining and evaluating quotes from suppliers, placing orders, and coordinating work schedules with contractors.
  • Undertaking procurement activities to secure best value for money for key waste and environmental services.
