SUMMARY

Nano Fibre UK are looking for a Waste Management Coordinator for the Birmingham area.
We are a fast growing company who are committed to offering the best service to our customers from our fibre broadband engineers in the region.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven individual to take ownership of the function, ensuring compliance with waste regulations, optimising waste disposal processes, managing contractors, and driving sustainability and waste reduction initiatives across all sites.

REQUIREMENTS

• Strong experience in waste management or environmental compliance, ideally in a national or multi-site capacity.
• Excellent knowledge of UK waste legislation (e.g. Environmental Protection Act, Hazardous Waste Regulations).
• Ability to manage contractors and hold suppliers to service level agreements.
• Comfortable working independently and travelling across the UK.
• Skilled in collecting and analysing waste data and producing clear reports.
• Strong administrative, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence at all levels.
• Relevant environmental or waste management qualification (e.g. WAMITAB, CIWM membership, IOSH).
• Training in ISO 14001, Environmental Management Systems or similar (desirable)
• Full UK driving licence (essential).

Work Location: On the roa

• Act as the company’s main point of contact for all waste-related matters across the UK.
• Develop, implement, and manage waste management strategies that align with environmental legislation and internal sustainability goals.
• Monitor waste disposal activities to ensure compliance with UK environmental regulations, including Duty of Care and Waste Hierarchy.
• Maintain accurate and auditable records of all waste transfers, consignment notes, and contractor documentation.
• Conduct regular site visits and audits to assess waste handling, segregation, and storage practices.
• Manage contracts and relationships with waste collection and disposal providers.
• Lead initiatives to reduce, reuse and recycle waste across the company.
• Prepare and present waste data reports, metrics, and improvement plans to senior management.
• Collaborate with site teams to improve awareness and performance in waste handling and environmental compliance.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 (if applicable) and support audits where required.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on waste processes and environmental responsibilities.
