The Waste Operative plays a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and efficiency within our waste management operations. This position involves handling various waste materials, ensuring proper disposal methods are followed, and contributing to a sustainable environment. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical knowledge and be comfortable with heavy lifting, as the role requires physical stamina and attention to detail.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in waste management or a similar role is advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
• A commitment to health and safety practices in all aspects of work.

• Operate waste collection vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Sort and separate recyclable materials from general waste.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Assist in loading and unloading waste materials from collection vehicles.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Report any issues or malfunctions with equipment to the supervisor promptly.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
