This in an exciting opportunity to join our Waste & Transport team as a Supervisor at Bradford Teaching hospitals.
You will have the opportunity to showcase your skills as you ;
Provide supervision, leadership and support to the Waste Porter & Transport Driver team ensuring a professional, efficient, effective and timely service to all departments that will contribute to achieving safe, high quality patient care.
You will learn all things Waste & Transport, the role is a working Supervisor so you will understand and be willing to do every aspect of the role.

Having excellent communication skills you will work closely with the Portering Senior Supervisor to ensure the efficient running of the services.

  • Ensure excellent communication with the Waste porter & Transport driver team at all times. Ensure effective communication systems are in place.
  • Work closely with the Senior Supervisor, attend any meetings as necessary and ensure that information requests are responded to as required.
  • Ensure the waste room/waste collection schedules are up to date and resourced effectively.
  • Ensure that the Transport delivery rounds are up to date and deliveries and collections completed as per schedule.
  • To work as a member of the Waste porter team to collect/remove waste across BTHFT sites when required.
  • To work as a member of the Transport driver team as and when required.
  • Ensure appraisals, probationary reviews and all training including Mandatory training is completed for all team members
  • Follow agreed process to accurately record staff absence, record timely RTW’s and approve annual leave.
  • Ensure that staff work within agreed safe systems of work at all times.
  • Ensure that personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided to all staff and that it is used/worn at all times.
  • Report any Health & Safety issues or incidents and report on IRIS
