Job Description Water Supply Expert AECOM India is seeking a highly skilled Water Supply Expert to support and lead the planning, design, review, and technical evaluation of water supply and distribution infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the delivery of sustainable, efficient, and reliable water supply solutions. Job Responsibilities The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Lead the planning, design, and review of water treatment plants (WTPs), water transmission mains, distribution networks, reservoirs, and pumping stations. Evaluate and recommend appropriate water treatment technologies, system configurations, and operational strategies. Conduct hydraulic analysis and system modeling for water transmission and distribution networks. Review engineering calculations, process designs, layouts, technical specifications, and design reports. Ensure compliance with applicable drinking water standards, regulatory requirements, national codes, and international best practices. Conduct technical evaluations of proposals, feasibility studies, Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), and detailed engineering designs. Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines to develop integrated water supply solutions. Provide technical guidance and support during construction, testing, commissioning, and operational performance assessments. Identify project risks and recommend mitigation measures to achieve quality, budget, and schedule objectives. Support project managers and clients through technical reviews, stakeholder consultations, and project presentations. Qualifications Minimum Requirements Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Public Health Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in the planning, design, and implementation of water supply infrastructure projects. Demonstrated experience in: Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) Water transmission systems and pumping stations Elevated Service Reservoirs (ESRs), Ground Service Reservoirs (GSRs), and storage facilities Water distribution network planning, hydraulic analysis, and design NRW reduction, demand assessment, and network optimization Strong understanding of drinking water treatment processes, water quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Experience in technical review of DPRs, proposals, feasibility reports, and detailed engineering documents. Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary consulting and engineering project environments. Excellent technical report writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Additional Information Preferred Qualifications Experience working on large-scale municipal, urban, and regional water supply projects. Familiarity with national and international water supply design standards and guidelines. Experience with hydraulic modeling software such as WaterGEMS, EPANET, or InfoWater. Experience supporting construction supervision, commissioning, and operational performance assessments of water supply systems.
