Description SUMMARY This position is an important role for maintaining operational capacity of the plant. Responsible for operating and maintaining the wastewater plants for Can Making and Can Filling, performing basic analytical tests of both wastewater and treated water systems, and collection of data for continuous improvement projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Operates and monitors wastewater equipment, such as equalization tanks, Y-strainers, DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation), J-Press (sludge removal). Performs daily and weekly analytical/quality tests on wastewater to ensure proper operation/chemistry of wastewater equipment. Under the direction of Site Hygienic Engineer and with assistance from the Chemical Process Engineer, adjusts concentration of DAF chemistries to ensure compliance of wastewater regulations. Responsible for conducting monthly PCR sampling of wastewater. Collects and Records data from the wastewater system for continuous improvement projects. Performs daily and weekly preventative maintenance tasks on wastewater equipment (calibrations, cleaning of J-press, priming chemical pumps etc.) Responsible for regular sampling and analytical/quality testing of RO water systems. Performs daily and weekly preventative maintenance tasks on RO water systems (check UV lights, check RO filters, etc.). Food Safety Responsible and required to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues; and empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work. Education: High School Diploma or GED with 1-3 years’ experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment preferred.
