Description Summary Performs skilled labor supporting the installation, maintenance, operation and repair of Holley-Navarre Water System’s Sewer Collections system. Work is performed under the general direction of the Lead Sewer Collections Tech. Requirements Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assist performing maintenance duties on the collection system, and grinders, including, but not limited to, collection lines, pumps and motors; locate leaks and complete repairs. Clean sewer collection system; assist vacuum truck operator to flush the collection system; open clogged lines; clean manholes and lift stations. Maintain and perform routine maintenance and service for job related tools and equipment. Responsible for the proper maintenance and safety of HNWS equipment. Responsible for the safety of all employees and public on site while operating equipment. Responsible for all DOT compliance associated with operating and maintaining truck and equipment. Inspects gravity systems to include use of camera and other assigned equipment. Responsible for the correct disposal of grease and sewer when cleaning and/or emptying truck. Operate and maintain line inspection equipment to survey, open and repair lines. Inspect, maintain and operate a variety of construction and maintenance equipment as well as participating in training in the operation of the equipment. Repair, maintain and ensure the security of manholes and pump stations. Utilize proper safety precautions related to all work performed. Spray pesticides or herbicides as needed in the collection system. Use proper traffic control techniques when working in congested areas. Respond to customer inquiries and complaints regarding sewer leaks and clogs; provide information to customers professionally regarding Holley-Navarre Water Systems, Inc. policies and procedures related to the duties being performed. Comply with HNWS Purchasing Policies to ensure accurate use and recording of supplies, parts, equipment and inventory used in support of HNWS activities. Perform other job duties as assigned. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Computer Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Docs. Work with all tools of the trade. Work around heavy equipment and motors in lift stations and bypass motors. Work near roadsides and highways.
