Description

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Strong experience of wastewater design in a developer, consultancy or water company role
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding Ofwat’s Code for Adoption and in particular the Design and Construction Guidance for foul and surface water sewers
  • Good knowledge of utilities marketplace and water company adoption policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
  • Chartered Engineer Status preferable

Responsibilities
  • Carry out technical appraisals of wastewater network designs, including sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), pumping stations, and rising mains, ensuring compliance with S104 and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to developers, consultants, internal teams, and business development colleagues on design adoptability and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by helping to review and develop internal technical systems, processes, and design controls.
  • Support adoption and commissioning by advising testing teams, tracking performance metrics, and producing relevant performance and compliance reports.
  • Develop resources and tools, such as guidance documents, S104 checklists, and input for GIS mapping systems and design variation processes.
