Nature of the Position
Are you passionate about environmental stewardship and operational excellence? Join our team as a Wastewater Laboratory Technician where you will play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing our wastewater systems. Our Water Resource Centre is a renowned, tertiary level membrane filtration, class IV wastewater treatment facility.
Under the general supervision of the Chief Wastewater Operator, and reporting to the Manager of Wastewater, this hands-on position involves operating and troubleshooting complex systems, supporting regulatory compliance, and ensuring efficient plant performance. Primary duties include conducting laboratory sampling and analysis, interpreting data to guide operational decisions, and contributing to technical reporting and documentation. With a strong focus on safety, environmental compliance, and teamwork, this role offers a dynamic, supportive and rewarding work environment. Required Competencies

APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary diploma in chemistry, biology, environmental science or related technical discipline
  • BC EOCP certification in Wastewater Treatment Level II (or the ability to obtain certification)
  • Three (3) or more years’ experience in wastewater chemistry and a laboratory setting, including conduction of sampling, testing and analysis
  • Willingness and availability to work shift schedules including evenings, weekends and holidays as required
  • Valid BC class five driver’s licence (or interprovincial equivalent) with clean drivers abstract
