Acting as the vital link between our communities and our infrastructure, you’ll uncover and resolve network issues that may have been hidden until now. We’re looking for a motivated and knowledgeable Wastewater Network Technician to take charge of sewer lining and infiltration reduction programmes across multiple catchments. This is a practical, hands-on role where you’ll be on the ground making decisions, adapting designs, and ensuring our contractors deliver exceptional work. You’ll work closely with project managers, internal teams, and the community, keeping everything running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. What you will be responsible for: Overseeing daily site operations and contractor activities Making real-time design adjustments based on site conditions Working with customers, Highways Authorities, and internal teams Supporting commercial reporting and programme delivery Assisting with contract documentation and supplier pricing Coordinating with Operations and Asset Management colleagues Attending local community meetings to gain insight and offer support Additional requirements specific to the role Some out-of-hours work may be required to attend community or stakeholder meetings Travel across multiple sites within your allocated region What you’ll bring to the role: Essential Experience working with sewer networks Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to act as a public-facing representative for the organisation Understanding of contractor management Full UK driving licence Desirable Experience adapting designs or making technical decisions on-site Knowledge of wastewater investigation or rehabilitation techniques About Southern Water Southern Water is at the forefront of transforming Britain’s water industry, investing significantly to enhance resilience, sustainability and service excellence.
