We take pride in our extensive experience in industrial wastewater engineering and operations. The Wastewater Operator supports both our customers and internal teams in the operation of industrial wastewater treatment systems. This role involves close collaboration with clients, regulatory agencies (federal and state), and various departments within The Probst Group. The Wastewater Operator plays a critical role in the day-to-day operation and preventive maintenance of treatment facilities. In addition to other tasks assigned by management, responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following: Key Responsibilities: Participate in Weekly Level 10 Meetings Collect wastewater samples for process monitoring and compliance Operate equipment, read gauges/meters, and record data Perform basic lab tasks with minimal supervision Assist with maintenance and repair tasks as needed Perform routine preventive maintenance with minimal supervision Use the MaintainX CMMS system to manage maintenance tasks Follow daily task lists provided by the site lead or manager Enter data accurately into Excel-based data logs Handle chemicals safely and adjust dosing per the supervisor's direction Understand and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Attend all health and safety (H&S) trainings and adhere to the H&S program Safely operate (or learn to operate) power tools, forklifts, and scissor lifts under supervision Conduct daily facility walkthroughs, complete documentation and checklists, and escalate concerns as needed Use the SCADA system and make basic operational adjustments Perform other duties as assigned Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Must be able to respond within 30 minutes when on call Valid driver’s license Good problem-solving, communication, and troubleshooting skills Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of experience in wastewater Previous experience in maintaining industrial equipment Previous experience operating skid steer and forklift Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred Hands-on experience with blowers, pumps, motors, and actuated valves, among others Ability to obtain Operator Certifications as specified by the local state requirements
