Description

Meta evaluates sites around the world for data center development and is seeking a water analyst to support water and wastewater cross-functional project efforts for our large and growing Data Center portfolio. This position will report directly to the Water Team Manager within the broader Site Development team and will work closely with other Data Center teams. Travel will be required to visit our data center sites and attend agency and stakeholder meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
  • 4+ years professional experience in water engineering, water resources management, hydrogeology, or water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Technical experience related to water management
  • Experience presenting data and analytics insights to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience building and maintaining cross-functional relationships enabling clear information flow across wide-ranging teams
  • Experience working with highly confidential information
  • Experience with database management using SQL, with the skill to design, implement, and query databases for data analysis and reporting
  • Data management and analytical skills, with expertise in statistical analysis, and attention to detail
  • Experience designing, building and maintaining dashboards within GIS, Tableau, and/or other data visualization software
  • Experience collaborating with data engineers, data scientists, and program managers building productive cross-functional and working relationships

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • E.I.T. or P.E. in civil or environmental engineering or related field
  • Experience working with external reporting standards such as CDP, GRI, TCFD, SASB, etc
  • Advanced data skills such as extract, transform, and load (ETL)
  • Familiarity with project management tools
  • Previous experience with data center water or sustainability analytics
Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain real-time dashboards and databases for tracking, analyzing and reporting water usage
  • Support the development of water projection modeling and decision making tools
  • Prepare research reports related to regulations, initiatives affecting water or wastewater management, and industrial water usage trends
  • Support the utility connection program and annual water data inventory for global reporting
  • Support financial tracking for Meta’s water program for both CapEx and OpEx related infrastructure expenses
  • Collect and analyze water and wastewater data for various requirements including voluntary reporting, mandated regulatory compliance and reporting, and water efficiency optimization
  • Monitor and support long term flow meter asset management including metadata mapping, commissioning and performance validation to ensure data accuracy, and quarterly data trending analysis
  • Monitor and support construction water best management practices tracking actual usage and projection accuracy
  • Evaluate and ensure data integrity and identify process improvements within the water analytics program
  • Organize, review and evaluate water and wastewater monitoring data to compare against agreements or permits, identify anomalies, and establish risk mitigation strategies
  • Develop training and educational resources on water related goals, compliance, and water resource awareness
  • Develop and track global portfolio metrics to establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for water program
  • Track progress against targets and benchmark performance against internal KPIs
  • Support risk analysis for data center lifecycle, supporting standardizing a water risk data collection framework Monitor state and local policies that could impact Meta’s water program
