What you will be doing: This role will be ideal if you have a Drainlayer background, Water Services Workers. We are looking for an experienced Water and Drainage Maintenance Technician who is hands-on, comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions and around active services to join our Engineering Services team at Auckland Airport. This role is a full-time permanent position, and it is to provide planned and reactive maintenance on the Three waters network (stormwater, wastewater, and potable water) across the Airport precinct. You will be working Monday to Friday from 7.30am-4pm. The hourly rate for this role will be $33.17. This is a hands-on, physical role and ideally for someone who is not afraid to get stuck in, comfortable in working outdoors in different weather conditions and around active services. Your key responsibilities are: Inspecting and clearing stormwater and wastewater lines. Flushing and jetting pipes to prevent or remove blockages. Repairing manhole haunchings and replacing damaged lids. Digging to access underground infrastructure. Performing drainage maintenance to keep systems working efficiently. To ensure your success in this role, you will need: Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience in underground services draining related trade roles. Demonstrates strong technical understanding of reading and interpreting service drawings, and accurately identifying and locating underground services on-site. Keen work ethic - not afraid to get stuck in or get your hands dirty. Well-developed skills as a team contributor, with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively. Ability to obtain a Class 2, Hiab truck and Fork Hoist license (desirable but not compulsory). NZQA Level 1 Traffic Management (desirable but not compulsory). Able to drive manual vehicles.
