WATER AND SEWER LEAD HAND (OUT OF TOWN WORK)

Firma Contracting is currently seeking an experienced Lead Hand to work on underground / water & sewer projects across Western Canada. We offer competitive wages for out of town work, LOA, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, training and potential for work over the winter.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 3+ years of Lead Hand experience
• Underground utility rehabilitation / replacement experience is required
• Ability to operate equipment is an asset
• Ability to read blueprints and grade sheets
• Safety conscious
• Strong understanding of pipe installation process and flow logistics
• Competent in the use of various rigging techniques and mechanisms
• Organized and ability to multi-task
• Able to work independently and follow instruction from the foreman
• Able to support other positions as needed
• Strong communication skills – provide instructions clearly with sufficient detail
• Ability to mentor workers for advancement
• Consistent, reliable and always show up for work fit for duty

• Work with all members of the underground crew to determine work planning and flow
• Provide supervision in the absence of the Foreman
• Assist in safety and quality management
• Complete site documentation as required
• Participate in inspections and incidents - address deficiencies / issues through corrective actions
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity
