Description

Water Fitness Instructors are expected to choreograph exercise sessions to include warm up, aerobic exercise, cool down and stretch. Instructors also select appropriate music for each stage in the workout. Instructors must effectively explain and demonstrate proper technique for each individual exercise. If student is executing a movement incorrectly, Instructor must identify and correct. Instructor is expected to modify exercises for participants who are injured, elderly, pregnant or those with a medical condition. Water Fitness Instructors need to adapt to the constraints of the pool space. They need to be able to explain to their clients how to perform each exercise correctly and demonstrate the proper execution. If necessary, they need to identify client errors and correct them so that the exercises are completed safely and effectively. Must demonstrate and enforce the safety rules and company conduct policy.

Instructor responsibilities include:

  • Attend New Employee Orientation within the first 60 days of employment.
  • Follow RBAC?s standards for grooming and dress.
  • Know, understand and following all guidelines, policies and RBAC?s chain of command.
  • Be responsible for knowing and assisting in performing the Emergency Action Plan (EAP). As well as completing and turning in accident/incident reports IMMEDIATELY after occurrence.
  • Assist lifeguards during transition times and emergencies.
  • Notify supervisor or senior staff whenever a potentially serious problem concerning facility.
  • Attend all inservice trainings. Notify supervisor if you are unable to attend.
  • Responsible for renewing required certifications, encouraged to continue aquatic education trainings.
  • Notify Water Fitness Coordinator regarding absences.
  • Complete required employment records, including time cards, in a honest and timely manner.
  • Refrain from using cell phone while working, id: texting, talking or surfing the internet.
  • Have fun in the fulfillment of duties.
