The Water Park Maintenance Manager supervises the repair and maintenance of all attractions and equipment on company property, including but not limited to Splashin Safari and the North Thanksgiving area. This role manages projects within scope, schedule, and budgets. This Maintenance Manager sets goals for their employees and works in cooperation with them to determine what actions need to take place to execute the set goals. They organize and divide tasks into activities that can be accomplished by team members to ensure timely installation and operational effectiveness. The Water Park Maintenance Manager is directly involved in administrative activities like maintenance budgeting and contract negotiations. The manager will train, coach, encourage, and discipline employees to help individuals reach their potential. Maintenance Managers are also eligible for our skill-based pay program! This compensation program allows our Part & Full-Time Maintenance Team to increase their rate of pay by developing their knowledge and skills at our parks through the completion of certifications and cross-training in other departments. Work Requirements Ensure the highest safety standards are followed in the maintenance department Work safely and comply with all safety regulations Manage maintenance team to ensure the safe operation of the Rides for our Team Members and Guests Oversee all rides and equipment comply with all state and federal laws, comply to manufacturers’ operating standards and requirements, perform visual and auditory inspections of attractions, maintain proper records for all inspections, and maintenance and repairs of attractions Manage full-time and seasonal staff including recruiting, scheduling, performance, daily tasks, company policies and discipline Assist in requesting capital improvement projects as appropriate through the annual capital budgeting process Work with Director to prepare annual operating budget and capital requests Comply with ASTM and State of Indiana regulations regarding amusement ride maintenance, inspections, and repairs Champion Company safety initiatives and OSHA safety regulations Become certified as a Level 1 technician within the amusement park industry within two years of becoming eligible; a level 2 certification is required within two years of becoming eligible Seek and pursue opportunities to improve operations and reduce costs by identifying ways to improve processes Working knowledge of manufacturer changes for attractions, new technologies and updates in the industry Partner with other business units within the company to ensure Guest satisfaction and safety Prioritize maintenance needs in both Parks and off-season work to minimize down-time during the operating season Document maintenance activities to ensure compliance with state regulations Manage relationships with contractors and service providers Work with vendors on materials pricing and coordinate with Supply Chain Manager Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair various systems including automation, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic Perform routine and preventative maintenance on park rides, water park attractions, vehicles, and heavy machinery Inspect, maintain, and repair amusement rides and attractions, rolling stock, food service equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, hydraulics Perform annual performance & planning reviews with members of the department Utilize a computerized maintenance management system to manage workflow, parts, and equipment history Coordinate maintenance service contracts Manage preventive and predictive maintenance activities Seek and pursue opportunities to improve operations and reduce costs by identifying ways to improve processes Interact effectively and successfully as well as coordinating maintenance activities with other park departments Learn new tasks and skills at the park and attending company-sponsored training off-site Other duties as assigned by management Schedule employees for effective and efficient coverage of park activities. Requirements High school diploma or GED; Associate degree in related field preferred 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred 3-5 years of management experience Knowledge and ability to inspect, maintain, and repair various rides and equipment throughout the parks (prior amusement park experience is preferred) Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software programs Ability to read and interpret equipment drawings, logic diagrams, and wiring diagrams Ability to operate a skid steer loader, manlift, and forklift, use hand power tools such as electric drills, saws, grinders, hoists, impact wrenches, etc. Ability to troubleshoot PLC systems and electrical control systems Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language Ability to properly use a respirator and pass a full-face respirator fit test, if needed Ability to wear PPE Dependable attendance record Valid driver’s license Ability to work full-time and weekends Acceptable pre-employment drug screen and background check Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds Ability to work at heights 150 feet above ground Holiday World & Splashin' Safari offers competitive wages and benefits, including a generous 401(k) match, bonus program, PTO accrual program, tuition discounts and reimbursements, free season passes and tickets, and much more!
