Description JOB TITLE: Water Plant Operator ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT: Public Works SUPERVISOR: Water Plant Superintendent FLSA: Non-Exempt Salary Range: $18.00 - $28.00 •Must be insurable through CPN and have a valid Oklahoma drivers license ALL FULL TIME POSITIONS: In addition to your pay, your salary also includes Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. The Biweekly deduction from employee paycheck is $40.00 for Employee Only, $95.00 Employee plus Children, $120.00 Employee plus Spouse, and $140.00 Employee plus family. JOB SUMMARY: Assist with maintaining water treatment and water distribution operations in Rural Water District #3 as instructed by management. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: · Read water meters, shut off and re-start meter services and monitor distribution system operations. · Operate and adjust controls on equipment to filter and treat raw water. Assist in new water service installations. · Inspect equipment and monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to determine load requirements and detect malfunctions. · Assist in/on collect and testing water samples using test equipment. Deliver samples as needed for laboratory analysis. · Record operational data. Enter meter and gauge readings on specified forms. · Maintain, repair and lubricate equipment, using hand tools and power tools. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: · Perform other duties and projects as required by management. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION: · Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent · Must have a valid Oklahoma Drivers License with a good record KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: · Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo. This includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
