Nau mai, haere mai ki a Fulton Hogan | Join us at Fulton Hogan We’re looking for a Water Project Engineer to join our Contracting team in Wellington You’ll lead day-to-day project engineering activities, support the Project Manager with site delivery, and help drive safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes on our projects helping us deliver good work that keeps our communities connected. Mō te tūranga | About the role As Project Engineer, you’ll be a key member of the project team, working closely with the Project Manager/Operations Manager to deliver water and civil construction projects. This is a hands-on, site-based role with time both on site and in the office, where you’ll plan, coordinate and monitor works to ensure they’re delivered safely, on time, on budget and to spec. You’ll play an important leadership role in the field – supporting and guiding crews, contractors and suppliers – and be instrumental in driving Fulton Hogan’s values of Respect, Energy & Effort, Attitude and Leadership in everything you do. Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities Lead the day-to-day coordination and delivery of project works on site, ensuring safe, efficient and productive operations. Champion Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards – including pre-starts, hazard management, incident reporting and compliance with company procedures. Prepare and manage project documentation, including programmes, correspondence, cost estimates and records, within required timeframes. Schedule works, procure subcontractor services and materials, and provide sound technical engineering support to the project team. Monitor progress, quality and productivity, identifying risks and opportunities and implementing improvements where required. Provide visible leadership on site – modelling Fulton Hogan values, supporting crews and contributing to a positive, respectful team culture. Kei te kimi mātou i tētahi e whai ana i ēnei pūkenga | We’re looking for someone with A relevant tertiary qualification, ideally a Bachelor of Civil Engineering (or similar) from a recognised institution. Experience delivering end-to-end water infrastructure projects, including planning, design input, construction delivery At least 5 years’ experience as an Engineer, preferably within water and civil contracting and the New Zealand contracting environment. Solid understanding of water and civil engineering and project management principles and working knowledge of current and relevant NZ legislation. Full Class 1 driver’s licence. Proven ability to lead and motivate site teams, with a practical, hands-on approach and strong problem-solving skills. A genuine commitment to safety, quality and environmental responsibility.
