POSITION SUMMARY

The Pump Service Technician is responsible for the installation, startup, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of irrigation pump stations across Seeger Water’s statewide service areas. This position ensures that pumping systems are safe, reliable, and efficient, supporting residential, commercial, golf, and agricultural irrigation operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or technical certification (mechanical/electrical/industrial) required; associate’s or trade school preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in pump station service, irrigation, or industrial pumping systems.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with VFDs, PLCs, and pump control systems.
  • Texas irrigation or plumbing license (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to travel regionally and respond to emergency service needs.

    Pay: $29.60 - $41.20 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Install, commission, and maintain irrigation pump stations and associated mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Perform diagnostic testing, repairs, and preventive maintenance to minimize system downtime.
  • Support start-up and calibration of variable frequency drives (VFDs), motors, and pump controls.
  • Maintain accurate service records and prepare detailed reports for customers and internal tracking.
  • Assist engineering/design teams with field assessments and system upgrades.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and provide rapid resolution of pump failures.
  • Train customers and field crews on proper pump station operation and safety practices.
