  An exciting opportunity has become available for a Water Quality Analyst in Aquatic Ecology to join the Customer Experience team within Sydney Water, on a 12-month term contract.
  Reporting to the Biology Laboratory Manager, you will carry out field collection and laboratory identification of freshwater macroinvertebrates and laboratory identification of marine macroinvertebrates for internal Sydney Water customers, as well as external customers.

Daily duties include laboratory analysis of samples, data entry, quality control, checks and calibrations.

• Conduct field collection and laboratory identification of freshwater and marine macroinvertebrates.
• Perform biological analysis of water and wastewater samples in line with established procedures.
• Maintain high standards of quality control, including data entry, calibrations, and checks.
• Collaborate with team members to meet customer needs and ensure efficient lab operations.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimise systems and processes.
• Participate in internal audits and uphold NATA accreditation standards.
• Promote safety and contribute to a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion.
